Job description

The Operations Supervisor-Summer Vacation Replacement (SVR) will work with the Auto Transport Service/FCAT Leads to direct and control the activities of our ATS/FCAT operations.

Responsibilities will include:
 

  • Planning and scheduling work assignments to conform to shipping requirements and workload priorities
  • Analyzing transportation requests received from plant and vendor shipping and receiving supervisors to determine equipment best suited for specific jobs

    Instructing drivers and lead transportation equipment as needs dictate
  • Rerouting equipment to conform with corporate transportation requirements
  • Establish city and state routes; load, traffic and safety regulations when necessary, ensuring through analysis of trip sheets and contact with supervisor that drivers make no unnecessary or unauthorized stops while enroute to accomplish continuous movement of vehicles; and, ensuring expedited services are performed on a timely basis


This position is needed for our Windsor Terminal to support same day deliveries of finished vehicles throughout Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario.

The salary range for this role is $1000-$1080 per week.

Basic Qualifications:
 

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility and adaptability
  • Exceptional time management, organizational and mediation skills
  • Advanced computing skill sets
  • Must be willing to work all shifts and weekends as needed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada


Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Knowledge of MTO and DOT laws and regulations
  • Communication skill set that not only motivates but conveys a convincing command of written, verbal and listening capabilities
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Experience with labour agreements and labour relations
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership techniques
