Job description

The Financial Analyst: Manages and analyzes a defined segment of the business to deliver accurate, timely financial information in alignment with accounting principles, government regulations, and company policies. This role is responsible for supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including accounting, consolidation, and financial reporting processes. The Financial Analyst partners with cross-functional teams to assess performance, identify trends, and provide insights that support informed business decisions while ensuring compliance and data integrity.

What You Will Do
 

  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including account reconciliations, financial statement reviews, variance analysis, and establishment of judgmental reserves.
  • Perform financial and functional analysis across P&L, balance sheet, and key accounts to identify trends, issues, and actionable insights.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement effective financial analysis tools, ensure data accuracy, and support informed business decisions.
  • Apply a strong working knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP, IAS/IFRS) to classify, record, and evaluate financial transactions, exercising professional judgment as needed.
  • Ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial data in accounting systems while adhering to compliance requirements, including SOX and internal audit controls.
  • Support special projects and ad hoc assignments to enhance financial processes, reporting quality, and operational effectiveness.


What We're Looking For:
 

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3+ years of accounting &/or financial analysis experience or; graduate of the 2 year Finance & Accounting Development Program with 1 year outside work experience.
  • Experience working in an environment requiring analytical response to a variety of business issues.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical abilities & a thorough understanding of GAAP.
  • Ability to interpret & apply current US GAAP, accounting for complex transactions & internal controls in compliance with SOX.


Goodyear offers a competitive pay and comprehensive total rewards package designed with your physical, financial, and emotional wellbeing in mind. The pay range for this position is

$80,408.00 - $149,327.00

However, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. You will also be eligible for a number of benefits, including medical, prescription, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, tuition assistance, sick and vacation time, as well as tire discounts.
