Job description
General Sales Manager of New and Pre-Owned Vehicles.
The General Sales Manager is responsible for the department’s profitability. He or she fulfills this responsibility by effectively managing staff, demonstrating knowledge of the potential market and established performance standards, and showing a strong focus on break-even points.
You will be responsible for ensuring rigorous monitoring of:
- Transactions, “T.O.”, and closing deals;
- New and used vehicles sold;
- Inventory;
- CRM for all customers (walk-ins, phone calls, etc.);
- The performance of the BDC department regarding incoming leads;
- The smooth handling of deliveries and customer survey results;
You will be responsible for:
- Evaluating your staff’s performance at regular intervals;
- Training and motivating your staff, and fostering teamwork in a customer-focused environment throughout the sales, delivery, and follow-up process;
- Working with precise metrics to monitor the performance of your sales, financing, and delivery department at all times;
- Appraise used vehicles and ensure that titles are in order;
- Have excellent knowledge of your programs to increase gross margins on new vehicles and after-sales market penetration (finance and insurance);
- Monitor and supervise lease renewal activities.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a General Sales Manager role;
- Positive leadership and professionalism;
- Coaching and mentoring skills;
- Ability to lead by example;
- Structured and organized;
- Available to staff and customers;
- Decision-making ability.
