Summary
As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for managing an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing, customer retention, technician training and quality workmanship while improving productivity and reducing costs in order to meet objectives.

- Minimum 7 years of technical experience in the medium/heavy-duty truck industry
- 1-3 years of Dealership experience is preferred.

What you'll do:
- Ensure that service team members are performing their duties as outlined in the appropriate job descriptions
- Conduct yearly performance reviews with all service team members
- Able to develop and follow action plans for department profitability and maintain customer enthusiasm
- Lead, motivate and train team members in Service Department operations
- Able to interpret and forecast financial reports
- Review tech working/billed hours and department sales reports daily
- Review service department CSI information monthly to ensure customer contact and response if required
- Review the over 15 days warranty debits with Warranty Administrator to ensure follow up and payment
- Review open repair orders over 3 days with Service Advisors to ensure follow up and closure
- Keep abreast of all federal, provincial and local regulations that affect service operations, and ensure compliance with all OEM and vendor policies and warranty procedures
- Seek out and securing new service business
- Investigate the progress of vehicle completion by conducting periodic spot checks of all jobs throughout the day to ensure timely repairs, quality workmanship and cleanliness
- Provide current manufacturers' vendor training courses for Technicians and service team members
- Ensure that current and required tools are purchased as necessary
- Hold monthly staff and Technician meetings
- Interview potential Service Department employees
- Maintain a minimum of 4-star Diamond Edge Rating for the location
- Take a lead role in the Health and Safety Committee for their respective branch
- Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions
The Service Manager will work at a desk in an office which is situated in the Service Department area. They may be exposed to noise, vibration, paint, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The Service Manager will crawl under vehicles and get in and out of vehicles to inspect the work completed. They will move about the service area to work with the Service Advisors, Technicians and Apprentices.
