A vacancy exists in the Operations Department at our Victoria St location for the position of Fleet Technician
Reporting to the Manager, Operations Services, this position is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on vehicles, tools and equipment.
Skills/ Abilities / Knowledge
- Intermediate written and verbal communication skills
- Basic MS Office skills and use of corporate software
- Intermediate time management and planning skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing industry standards
- Able to deal with fellow employees and customers in a tactful and courteous manner
- Basic mathematical skills
- Advanced problem solving, critical thinking and trouble shooting skills in differing situations
Knowledge / Education
- Forklift experience required
- 310T Coach and Truck Technician Certificate
- 310S Automotive Service Technician Certificate
- Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements as it relates to individual, organizational and operational requirements
- Advanced knowledge in the diagnostics and repair of hydraulic aerial devices and radial arm digger derricks
- Advanced knowledge in electrical circuits and reading wiring diagrams
- Advanced knowledge in the inspection of welds
- Advanced knowledge of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act and CVOR requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Practical Cargo Securement Guidelines
Experience
- 5 years' related experience (310T and 310S)
- A valid Class "D" driver's license is required. A Class "A" license with "Z" Air Brake endorsement is a preferred asset
Major (Primary) Responsibilities
- Perform annual MTO Inspections on CVOR trucks and trailers according to schedule and MTO standards
- Maintain and overhaul cars, trucks and small to medium construction equipment
- Maintain and overhaul hydraulic components and devices
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair all reported deficiencies
- Perform boom lubrications and inspections based on required cycle. Repair and record all deficiencies
- Perform required vehicle services and inspections and record work activities and repairs
- Schedule vehicle inspections and repairs and coordinate external repairs with vendors
- Responsible for ordering necessary parts for fleet maintenance as needed
- Monitor fleet parts inventory
- Repair truck tools, chain hoists and other equipment
- Fabricate, design, weld and/or modify specialty equipment to meet Enova Power Corp. requirements
- Respond to emergencies or unplanned repairs outside of normal hours
- Occasionally deliver and pick up vehicles and parts
- Perform other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $33.87 - $47.70
