We are looking for an automotive mechanic (automotive mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems technician) to take part in the daily activities of our Solus repair shop in Laval.
You will be responsible for assessing damage to the mechanical and electrical components of vehicles. You will ensure that the customer experience is at the heart of our activities and that customer satisfaction and financial performance are maintained by performing quality repairs.

Your tasks:

    • Disassemble and replace damaged vehicle parts
    • Use diagnostic equipment to diagnose and repair electrical faults
    • Repair mechanical damage, e.g., engine, suspension, or steering
    • Use computerized equipment to adjust wheel alignment
    • Order necessary parts from the parts department
    • Prepare invoices for work performed and send them to the accounting department
    • Ensure repairs are carried out smoothly in the workshop and identify the problems causing the breakdowns
    • Be an active member of the team and promote a collaborative work environment focused on customer needs
    • Keep promises made to customers and ensure they get their vehicles back as quickly as possible
    • Comply with technical and quality standards related to mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
    • Promote the values and objectives of the Aviva Auto Service Center

Required skills:



    • Red Seal certification - Automotive Mechanic

    • At least three years of experience in the automotive repair industry, preferably at a dealership

    • Other automotive manufacturer certifications are an asset

    • Experience working with driver assistance systems is preferred
    • Valid driver's licence

    • Commitment to continuous improvement
    • Good knowledge of preventive maintenance, refurbishment, and repair practices and procedures for vehicles and equipment

    • Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, manage multiple tasks, and work under pressure
    • Adaptability and openness to change, proactive mindset to adopt new work practices and technologies

    • Excellent customer service, communication, and conflict resolution skills

    • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical problems, determine root causes, and find solutions

    • Detail-oriented approach and strong organizational skills
    • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under pressure
