Job description

Méga Kia Brossard dealership is looking for a Pre-Owned Vehicles Sales Manager for its pre-owned department.

Job summary:

You will be responsible for maintaining customer loyalty and the profitability of this profit center. You will also be responsible for evaluating, purchasing, refurbishing, displaying, and marketing the used car inventory. You will supply the used car sales department with saleable used cars.

Selection criteria:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Pre-Owned Vehicles Sales Manager position;
    • Experience managing a volume of more than 700 pre-owned vehicles;
    • Ability to manage multiple files at the same time;
    • Excellent leadership / team-building skills;
    • Enthusiastic and motivated;
    • Good communicator;
    • Responsible and autonomous;
    • Knowledge of Serti/Merlin and Activix.

Main tasks:

    • Forecast monthly and annual sales, gross revenue, and essential expense targets;
    • Ensure appropriate follow-up with all potential buyers by creating, implementing, and closely monitoring a customer search and sales control system;
    • Provide accurate data on floor activity monitoring to your supervisor on a daily basis;
    • Communicate with financial institutions to obtain approval for exceptional cases;
    • Ensure that all vehicles are presented to customers on the company's website and, more specifically, that photos of used vehicles are up to date and that all specifications are available;
    • Oversee the dissemination of information related to used vehicles on various specialized sales websites and social media;
    • Closely monitor lease renewal activities, analyze related reports, and submit recommendations to your supervisor to maximize the profitability of the lease portfolio;
    • Lead the department's marketing and advertising activities in collaboration with your supervisor;
    • Collaborate in the design of various advertising and promotional campaigns;
    • Complete transaction sheets and submit them to accounting in a timely manner;
    • Establish and maintain standards for the delivery of cars to customers;
    • Ensure that the first after-sales service appointment is scheduled at the time of delivery;
    • Process sales consultants' commission sheets and check their payroll records;
    • Assist the used car department with trade-in evaluations, as needed;
    • Analyze various customer satisfaction reports and submit recommendations to ensure customer satisfaction;
    • Understand and stay abreast of federal, provincial, and municipal regulations affecting the sale of new cars;
    • Stay abreast of new developments related to the manufacturer's and/or financial institutions' current products, programs, and promotions.

Inventory management tasks:

    • Check the used car inventory daily to ensure an adequate balance of stock for rotation;
    • Make recommendations to your supervisor regarding the used car inventory;
    • Closely monitor customer preferences, lost sales, dealership sales history, and local market trends in order to select which cars to keep in stock and make balanced purchases;
    • Analyze advertisements in newspapers, on the Internet, or in specialized publications to find vehicles in good condition.
    • Implement a turnover policy.
    • Plan and control the display of vehicles in the showroom and parking lot.
    • Evaluate all used cars that arrive at the dealership, ensure that their titles are in order, and check their mechanical condition and bodywork.
    • Affix labels for the sale and long-term rental of automobiles in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act and ensure that they are updated accordingly.
    • Ensure that used vehicles intended for retail sale are covered by legal warranties of good working order.
    • Stay up to date on the market and current used car valuations by browsing various specialized sales websites.
    • Manage the refurbishment of used vehicles;
    • Ensure that bodywork and mechanical repairs are carried out and done properly;
    • Create and maintain an external network for buying and selling cars;
    • Attend management-approved auctions and purchase vehicles;
    • Closely monitor auction purchase results and compare gross profits from auctioned cars with those from trade-ins;
    • Notify relevant parties of scheduled delivery dates for purchased cars;
    • Develop and oversee wholesale activities.

Human resources management tasks:

    • Chair daily and weekly meetings for the sales team;
    • Implement systems to ensure ongoing training for Sales Consultants.
