What You'll Do:

 

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair vehicles using diagnostic tools; perform required maintenance, part replacements, and test drives/operations as needed
  • Conduct scheduled, routine and preventative maintenance to the fleet, including CVIP inspections
  • Accurately document all service and repair activities and coordinate timely parts procurement to support shop operations
  • Collaborate with technicians, management, and drivers to meet shop schedules and priorities while adhering to all safety, environmental, and HR procedures in compliance with OH&S and inspection standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace; communicate effectively with team members; support and mentor apprentices, recommend training needs, and participate in company training programs as required


What We're Looking For:

 

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) or a 4th Year Apprentice
  • CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License, or a willingness to obtain one within the probationary period
  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience with on-highway vehicles
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
  • Solid knowledge of Health & Safety practices, including OH&S regulations, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability, especially under time pressure
  • Good time management and organizational skills to handle multiple work orders and priorities
  • Employment is subject to a satisfactory background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
  • Willingness for occasional travel, depending on operational requirements


Bonus Points if You Have:

 

  • Prior Journeyperson Mechanic experience considered an asset
  • Prior experience maintaining motorcoach vehicles or a large on-highway fleet, including transit buses
  • Class 1, 2 or 3 license with Q (Air Endorsement)
