The Role:
This role will require you to leverage your skills and experience to drive a culture of excellence, focus, and collaboration. As a Maintenance Supervisor you will oversee the repair and preventative maintenance of all stamping equipment. You will also be responsible for ensuring departmental productivity, quality, safety, and cost targets are achieved for all stamping equipment on your shift.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Mentor and coach safety, quality and productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
- Lead skilled trades, to evaluate equipment readiness requirements for maintaining and improving production yields, output, and up time while adhering to budgetary limitations and time constraints
- Maximizing stamping equipment effectiveness to improve productivity and quality
- Develop and lead preventative maintenance activities
- Champion constraint analysis and coordinate activities to eliminate production bottlenecks
- Develop and implement a training strategy for all team members
- Coordinate and schedule resources and materials, requesting overtime authorization when required to meet maintenance requirements to minimize down time
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, ensuring timely repairs
- Enforce health and safety rules in compliance with government, industry, and corporate standards
- Coordination of Safety Operating System activities including overhead safety, lifting, and rigging and Energy Control and Lockout procedures
- Determine and correct root cause of related downtime issues
- Leads problem solving meetings to help eliminate ALL downtime
- Mentor and teach maintenance troubleshooting techniques to improve mean time between failure and repair
- Generate and implement Cost Savings and Process Improvement suggestions
- Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents including time keeping
- Recognize and celebrate accomplishments of the team
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- College Diploma or Skilled-Trade Certificate of Qualification. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).
Experience:
- 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to work all shifts; days, afternoons, midnights.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)
- Skilled trades certificate of qualification in mechanical, tool & die or electrical is preferred.
Experience:
- Experience in an automotive heavy stamping facility.
- Proficient with industrial controls such as PLCs (Allen-Bradley), Siemens drives and HMIs.
- Exposure in maintaining and troubleshooting Jier Presses.
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with all employees at all levels of the organization.
- Troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and constraint management principles.
This posting is for an existing vacancy within our team.
The expected annual salary range for this position is $85,000-$135,000 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.
