The Chemical Claims Examiner - Alberta reporting to Protection Product & Mechanical Claims Manager - Alberta reviews the labor, parts, sublet, and any additional charges in relation to the coverage on a given contract.

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Manages general incoming calls / emails/faxes as required by the nature of the call / email.
  • Log all calls / inquires / claims.
  • Responsible for the review of pictures ensuring loss is coverable under the terms of the policy.
  • Review of requested pictures to confirm the legitimacy of a claim.
  • Review of estimates confirming labor rates, hours, part prices and related estimate requests.
  • Return authorizations for covered claims or respond to non-covered claims with the reason of denial.
  • File all approved claims manually or electronically.
  • Responsible to match all incoming invoices with backup for payment, insert the required information, calculate the amount paid including a breakdown of tax(es) and enter the claim as paid.
  • Processing all Chemical claims including payables of each.
  • Processing aged claims authorized but never received.
  • Sourcing of outside sources to keep claim cost at a minimum (aftermarket).
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Post-secondary education in automotive is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience as a Licensed Auto Body Technician is required.
  • Fluent in Mitchell/Audex estimating system is a asset.
  • Parts Person or a Service advisor with Auto Body shop experience is a asset.
  • Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) is required.
  • Fluent in English with proven competencies in verbal and written communication is required.
  • Fluent in French with proven competencies in verbal and written communication is an asset.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, education verification, license and certification verification (where applicable), and employment reference checks is required before employment.
