Job Summary:
Reporting to the HOD Sr. Manager, LDS, the Business Analysts will support the LDS & Parts Distribution Center (PDC) leadership by analyzing operational, financial, inventory, dealer claim, packaging supply, and facility performance data to drive informed business decisions. This role translates complex data into actionable insights and supports strategic initiatives across logistics, inventory control, dealer experience, equipment performance, and packaging supply management.
The position serves as a key analytical partner to Operations, Logistic, Maintenance, Procurement, Finance, IT, and Dealer Support teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Business & Operations Analysis:
- Analyze end-to-end PDC performance including inbound, outbound, inventory flow, labor productivity, throughput, and packaging usage.
- Identify operational trends and risks impacting service levels, cost, safety, and dealer satisfaction.
- Support annual operating plans, peak readiness, and capacity planning through data analysis and scenario modeling.
Packaging Supply Management & Analysis:
- Analyze packaging material usage including cartons, returnable containers, and special packaging.
- Assist to monitor packaging inventory levels, consumption rates.
- Assist to identify packaging shortages, excess, or waste trends and quantify cost and service impact.
- Support standardization of packaging specifications to reduce damage, claims, and handling inefficiencies.
- Partner with Operations and Procurement to improve packaging availability, cost control, and sustainability initiatives.
Operation & Equipment Maintenance Support:
- Track material handling equipment (MHE) availability, downtime, and maintenance trends (e.g., forklifts, reach trucks, order picker).
- Analyze maintenance data to identify recurring failures, high-cost assets, and preventive maintenance gaps.
- Develop reports and dashboards to monitor equipment uptime, PM compliance, and impact to operations.
- Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance teams to support scheduling of preventive maintenance with minimal operational disruption.
- Support capital planning by providing data for equipment replacement, refurbishment, or capacity expansion decisions.
Dealer Claim & Dealer Experience Analysis:
- Analyze dealer claims related to shortages, damages, mis-picks, freight issues, and packaging failures.
- Identify recurring claim trends tied to packaging methods, materials, or handling processes.
- Track claim value, prevention effectiveness, and resolution cycle times.
- Support corrective actions to improve dealer satisfaction and reduce preventable claims.
System and Business Liaison:
- Act as a liaison between warehouse operators and supervisors.
- Translate operational needs into system requirements and present to management for implementation.
Inventory Control & Financial Impact Analysis:
- Analyze inventory accuracy, adjustments, shrink, and damage trends.
- Quantify financial impact of inventory discrepancies and packaging-related losses.
- Support cycle count governance through variance trend analysis and compliance reporting.
Equipment, Facility & Asset Performance Analysis:
- Analyze material handling equipment (MHE) and facility performance, including uptime, downtime, and maintenance costs.
- Assess impact of equipment availability on productivity, packaging operations, and order fulfillment.
- Support capital planning and business cases for equipment or facility investments.
Data, Reporting & Business Intelligence:
- Develop executive-level dashboards and KPI scorecards covering service, cost, inventory, claims, equipment, and packaging performance.
- Ensure data alignment across all MOBIS systems.
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis and executive summaries to support leadership decisions.
Process Improvement & Governance:
- Identify cross-functional gaps impacting operational efficiency, packaging availability, compliance, and scalability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives with data-driven business cases.
- Assist in defining SOPs, controls, and governance for packaging management and operational processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between Operations, Logistic, Procurement, Maintenance, Finance, IT, and Dealer Support teams.
- Support system enhancements, reporting automation, and data standardization initiatives.
- Facilitate data-driven discussions and leadership reviews.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- PDC service level and throughput.
- Dealers claim rate, value, and resolution cycle time.
- Inventory accuracy and obsolescence.
Required Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or business computing.
- Experience in a business/requirements analyst role.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple concurrent tasks/projects.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL scripting.
- Experience with VBA, Power BI, or other automation tools for data handling and visualization.
- Understanding of APIs, data structures, and integration between applications.
- Ability to design applications that run independently or connect across Office 365 tools.
- Effective communication skills to explain technical ideas to non-technical users.
- High sense of ownership and initiative to identify problems before they are assigned.
