Job Responsibilities

This position works directly with thetechnicians in the shop, providing support with technical questions and mentoring newtechnicians. The Assistant Service Manager reports to the Service Manager and is responsible for the following:
 

  • Assist the Service Manager with annual serviceprograms duties, including quoting, and promotion
  • Informthe Service Manager of in-house technician training needs
  • Coachnew technicians and apprentices with workorders assigned to them
  • Supportnew technicians and apprentices with their technical, repair,and diagnostic questions
  • Improvetechnician efficiencies by keeping technicians on tasks and coaching whenneeded
  • Direct and assist in the diagnosis of machineproblems of technicians and apprentices
  • Contact customers to update with any ongoingrepair status and cost estimates
  • Organizeshop tools and properly catalogue them for quick location
  • Maintain shop cleanliness and ensuretechnicians are keeping the work area tidy
  • Otherduties as assigned, including health and safety responsibilities


Skills and Qualifications
 

  • Holds a Journeymen license in 310T, 310S, or 425A
  • 3+ years of experience performing service repairs;demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics
  • 3+ years of experience being a leader within a department andworking in a team environment
  • Understanding of the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in equipment
  • Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipmentfor diagnostic purposes
  • Must be a team player with the ability to buildstrong relationships with customers and employees
  • Must possess strong written and verbalcommunication skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems
  • Able to work flexible and extended hours, Saturdayrotation and carry an on-call phone when scheduled.


The posted pay range reflects the skills and qualifications listed above. Candidates with higher or lower levels of experience, education or knowledge may be considered at a point outside the range. 

Wage Range
 

  • $85k-$90k per year
  • Placement within the wage range is based on skills, experience, and qualifications
  • Applicants with more or less experience and qualifications may be placed outside the salary range
