Senior Generalist Technician – Pre-Owned Vehicles

Haut Richelieu Volkswagen is in a strong growth phase. In 2026, we have a clear objective: to significantly increase our used vehicle volume, with more than 450 retail PRE-OWNED vehicle deliveries planned.

To support this growth, we are implementing a structured, efficient, and consistent used vehicle process, and we are looking for a senior technician who will be dedicated to the inspection, diagnosis, and reconditioning of all our used vehicles.

THE POSITION

We are looking for a highly experienced generalist technician, comfortable working on all makes and models, who will play a central role in our PRE-OWNED vehicle operation.

You will be responsible for the inspection of 100 % of our used vehicles, diagnostics, planning of required repairs, and performing the necessary work. This role involves a wide range of tasks, including general mechanical work, advanced diagnostics, electrical systems, engine and transmission repairs, as well as routine maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Inspect all used vehicles and create clear, complete repair recommendations.
- Perform advanced diagnostics (electrical, electronic, modules, etc.).
- Carry out major and complex repairs, including engine, transmission, cooling, steering, suspension, brakes, and differential work.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs such as brakes, tires, suspension, and services.
- Maintain consistent quality to minimize comebacks and improve the overall customer experience.
- Work closely with the service and parts departments to maintain a smooth and predictable used vehicle workflow.
- Properly document all work performed.

PROFILE :

- Senior Generalist Technician with strong experience across multiple brands.
- Solid background in diagnostics, engine, transmission, and electrical systems.
- Autonomous, organized, detail oriented, and quality focused.
- Able to manage a steady volume of work without compromising quality.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Volkswagen experience is an asset but not required.
