Overall Responsibility:

The Crib Attendant supports the smooth and efficient operation of the blanking facility. This hybrid role combines responsibilities in facility maintenance and tool crib management, ensuring our production teams have a safe, well-maintained workplace and reliable access to critical tools and spare parts. This is a hands-on position that plays a vital role in supporting both day-to-day plant reliability and long-term operational excellence.

Accountabilities:

 

  • Perform routine inspections, minor repairs, and general equipment upkeep (lighting, plumbing, HVAC, compressors, utility rooms).
  • Maintain cleanliness of production areas; support waste, garbage, and scrap removal.
  • Clean, oil, and complete small repairs on equipment; dispose of obsolete equipment per procedure.
  • Maintain organized, secure tool crib with accurate inventory and records.
  • Issue tools/parts, track usage, manage calibration schedules, and inspect tools for wear.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and receive/identify incoming maintenance items.
  • Maintain min/max levels and update Maintenance Connection CMMS accordingly.
  • Pre-kit spare parts for work orders and PMs; sort tools for repair and coordinate vendor repairs.
  • Manage purchasing and distribution of maintenance items; obtain quotes and process purchase orders.
  • Communicate inventory risks or shortages to the Materials Manager and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for tooling repairs and facility services.
  • Support work orders, PM activities, documentation, and continuous improvement/WCM initiatives.
  • Assist with scheduling preventive maintenance and ensuring spare part availability.
  • Monitor facility conditions; uphold 5S, safety, and housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain compliance with HSE standards (OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001) and QMS requirements (IATF 16949).
  • Adhere to company policies, EH&S procedures, and Employee Handbook responsibilities.
  • Provide strong customer service to suppliers and internal teams; communicate progress, issues, and requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

 

  • 2-5+ years of experience in facility maintenance, tool crib, or industrial support role.
  • Excellent Teamwork and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to achieve results.
  • Basic mechanical/electrical aptitude for facility upkeep.
  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
  • Proven understanding of MS Office.
  • Proficiency with CMS or similar maintenance/inventory systems an asset.
