Job description

The 310T Mechanic is responsible for safely inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding company-owned or leased heavy-duty diesel trucks and related equipment. This role ensures all fleet assets operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Diagnose and repair operational issues on heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel, CNG, gasoline, and electric-powered equipment and vehicles.
  • Complete work orders, repair reports, and parts requests; perform required administrative tasks daily.
  • Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner and procure required parts to execute the plan.
  • Review mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedules with operations.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a safe manner and in compliance with company and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintain and provide the necessary tools to perform all required maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and applicable federal/provincial regulations.
  • Support onboarding and training of new maintenance team members as required.
  • Stay current on emerging mechanical technology through manuals, training seminars, and certification testing.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.


Requirements:
 

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a diesel mechanic.
  • 310T Truck & Coach Technician license.
  • Experience using diagnostic software is considered an asset.
  • Strong computer literacy and willingness to learn new programs and systems.
  • Must meet all company standards for safety-sensitive positions.
