Job Description

General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada i currently looking for a Vehicle Coordinator to help lead the coordination and movement of customer and company military vehicles across on-site and remote locations, ensuring all operations run safely, efficiently, and securely. Acting as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders, you'll oversee daily activities within the Vehicle Integration Compound, guide and mentor team members, and manage all tasks related to vehicle storage, troubleshooting, repairs, refuelling, and documentation. You'll also play a critical role in planning field trial activities, supporting installation and testing efforts, and maintaining up-to-date safety and security protocols while operating equipment such as forklifts as required.

Primary Responsibilities
 

  • Key liaison for the movement and coordination of customer and company military vehicles at company and remote sites.
  • Lead others to perform all military vehicle and shelter related duties
  • Plan and execute daily operation of Vehicle Integration Compound and related facilities.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholder and execute all tasks associated with the movement and storage of customer and company military vehicles.
  • Conduct a thorough troubleshoot and diagnose root cause of issues and oversee advanced repairs when necessary.
  • Respond to escalated inquires about military vehicle capabilities and make recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Oversee safe refuelling of military vehicles. Oversee completion of customer maintenance and supply forms for military vehicles and equipment.
  • Lead and mentor others to perform offsite installations or tests without supervision.
  • Ensure and maintain a high level of security for the care and movement of military vehicles at all times. Responsible for ensuring that the safety and security protocols are up to date and being followed.
  • Lead others in support of vehicle installation and testing as required. Operate a forklift, observing all safety regulations.
  • Update safety boards and MSDS forms. Required to comply with all company documentation.
  • Plan the execution and the coordination of all required equipment and supplies for field trial activities. Performs other related duties as required.


Qualifications

Education & Experience
 

  • Equivalent to full secondary school
  • More than 10 years of experience


It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.

Working Environment
 

  • Continuous movement amongst workstation equipment to complete work. Repetitive hand/finder movement is required for continuous periods of time. Lifting, carrying, handling materials up to 20 lbs constantly, up to 50 lbs frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs (with support).
  • Significant visual attention for concentration required to operate military vehicles for continuous periods of time.
  • Frequently required to handle dirty and oily equipment. Some isolation while in VIC area; limited exposure to chemicals, fumes, dust and noise; some repetition; moderate interruptions and occasional high volumes.
  • Required to travel on short notice. Field assignments range in length, sometimes up to several weeks.
