Job description
As a HR Specialist, you'll play a key role in strengthening the plant's organizational effectiveness by developing employee capabilities and optimizing talent. This position partners with leadership to design and implement programs that foster job security, engagement, recognition, and achievement, aligning individual growth with organizational goals. The HR Specialist ensures consistent application of HR systems and policies while creating collaborative solutions that benefit both employees and management.
What You'll Do
- Supporting HR operations through policy updates, benefits administration, and system management.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to leaders and an advocate for team members.
- Promoting fair and consistent application of HR policies and compliance with employment standards.
- Resolving workplace issues quickly and effectively, creating win-win solutions.
- Building strong connections on the production floor to gather feedback and share insights with leadership.
- Guiding managers in fostering positive relationships and applying company policies consistently.
- Driving continuous improvement through HR audits, system enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
- Supporting plant optimization and skill development in a collaborative, non-union environment.
- Maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all interactions, aligned with the company's Code of Conduct.
- Full Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation when needed.
What We're Looking For
- A post-secondary degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- At least 1 to 3 years of experience in an HR role, with a solid understanding of HR practices & standards.
- Skilled in facilitation and negotiation, with the ability to create win-win solutions.
- Self-driven and adaptable, capable of working independently and leading change within teams.
- Knowledge of Ontario Human Rights and Employment Standards Act (ESA) legislation.
