Job description
We are looking for a General Manager.
You will be responsible for defining and implementing the company's operational and financial strategy, in line with the objectives of the Board of Directors and the requirements of the automotive sector. You will lead operations, sales, customer service, and support functions, ensuring the achievement of results, cost optimization, and profitability. You will also be the external voice of the organization, liaising with partners, suppliers, and customers, and ensuring clear and transparent internal communication. Finally, you will be responsible for anticipating market developments and launching projects focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and digital transformation.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and lead the overall strategy, budgets, and performance indicators, ensuring alignment with the long-term vision.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, optimize resources, and ensure operational excellence in key functions (operations, finance, sales, after-sales service).
- Manage relationships with partners, customers, and suppliers to support growth and retention.
- Implement risk management, compliance, and governance practices appropriate to the Quebec context and the automotive sector.
- Foster innovation and competitiveness by stimulating continuous improvement initiatives and adaptation to new technologies and market trends.
- Ensure succession to the position and act as a coach for talent development; design, support, and accompany succession and mentoring plans to ensure operational continuity and internal leadership.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management position (General Manager, VP, or equivalent), preferably in the automotive sector or in an industry associated with distribution, service, and maintenance.
- Proven leadership, proven team management, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to inspire and mobilize talent around ambitious goals.
- Knowledge of the legal framework and specificities of the Quebec and Canadian context; fluency in professional French and English an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a coach and mentor, with experience in implementing succession and talent development programs.
- Availability for occasional travel and ability to adapt to a dynamic and demanding environment.
