A.Duties & Responsibilities 

 

  1. Relieve painters within cell for breaks and lunches when required by supervisor.
  2. Train new painters on proper paint techniques and current spray patterns
  3. Ensure that all documentation required is accurate and complete including Lot Numbers and Viscosity when mixing paint.
  4. Promote the efficiency improvement while maintaining the quality levels expected.
  5. Foster and promote continuous improvement efforts and ensure communication and follow up to the next management level.
  6. Ensure that prior to the arrival of the cell team an inspection of the cell is made and that the previous painters have addressed the discrepancies found.
  7. Facilitate open and honest communication network including Supervisors and cell team, as well as other employees.
  8. Ensure the safety of all cell members. Report unsafe acts or conditions to the Supervisor and insist on full compliance to safety in the workplace.
  9. Promote pride of workmanship, urgency, consistency, punctuality and a positive team approach through leadership by example.
  10. Take aggressive measures towards housekeeping. Promote working tidy and organized without creating additional clean up that would adversely affect efficiencies.
  11. Ensure Paint Preventative maintenance schedule is maintained
  12. Ensure paint kitchen is clean and organized at all times.
  13. At the completion of the shift, ensure that the paint area is ready for immediate occupancy by the next painter and full productivity can begin without reduction in efficiency or quality.
  14. Monitor paint inventory levels and paint waste levels and advise supervisor of low quantities or when paint waste needs to be removed
  15. Ensure paints are pre-mixed for on-coming shift
  16. Ensure all paint equipment in is good working condition and the painters have the proper tools to complete the job.
  17. Complete spay outs on all pre-ship paint for quality
  18. Complete all paint trials and set spay patterns for all new programs
  19. Prior to a program change, specific duties and responsibilities should be communicated to each member of the cell team to ensure the smooth transition, of programs occur.



B.Minimum Qualifications 

 

  1. Good written and verbal communication skills
  2. Must be able to pass colour perception tests



C.Required Skills 

 

  1. Problem solving abilities.
  2. Strong motivational and leadership skills.
  3. Excellent motor skills and dexterity.
  4. Pass colour evaluation tests for appearance item inspection.
  5. Understanding of key Quality & Environmental Management Systems procedures related to job function.
  6. Forms, Tags and Labels governing job function.
