Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience. An MBA is considered an asset.
Experience:
- 10 years of Automotive Manufacturing experience with at least 5 years in plant management.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, materials planning and logistics in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with labour unions is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with labour, safety, environmental, and financial legislation.
- Establish and maintain a culture of safety, enforcing safety standards and practices.
- Participate in safety and environmental audits, risk assessments, and emergency drills
- Track and report EHS metrics, driving initiatives to reduce incidents and environmental non-compliance.
- Improve overall workplace safety.
- Ensure all equipment and processes meet regulatory safety requirements and team members are trained accordingly.
Operational Leadership
- Manage and oversee the production processes to meet delivery, quality, and cost targets.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve plant performance, maximize efficiency and ensure on-time delivery.
- Directly supervise and provide leadership to the Production Manager, Quality Manager, MP&L Manager, Human Resources Manager, and the Engineering Manager.
- Establish performance goals for direct reports, monitor and report on progress.
- Champion a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Communicate and explain new directives, standards, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meet with operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
- Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with the VP, Operations to define and execute the strategic plan.
- Drive initiatives to enhance manufacturing capabilities, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Develop budgets and forecasts to align with the company's financial objectives.
- Project a positive image of the organization to team members, customers, industry, and community.
Quality and Customer Focus
- Ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations for quality and performance.
- Partner with the Quality Manager to identify and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Foster strong relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction.
Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement
- Lead initiatives to streamline production processes and reduce waste.
- Drive operational excellence through the application of Industry 4.0 technologies
- Partner with the Engineering Manager to optimize equipment utilization and minimize downtime.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Operational efficiency: Meeting or exceeding production targets, cycle times and cost metrics.
- Quality metrics: Reduction in defects, warranty claims and customer complaints.
- Employee Engagement: High retention rates and positive employee feedback
- Safety: Zero incidents and compliance with safety regulations
- Customer Satisfaction: Achievement of delivery and quality goals.
- Mitigation plans for below-target KPIs.
Health, Safety & Wellness
- Prioritize safety and comply with the Health and Safety Management System.
- Support risk reduction, hazard identification, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and wellness legislation and KSR standards.
- Uphold and adhere to the KSR Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
Environmental
- Promote the global Environmental Management System with a focus on footprint reduction, recycling, and resource efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and KSR standards.
