Come grow with us...North American Stamping is looking to hire. We are looking for an Advanced Process Engineer to join our team! As a key player of the Sales & Engineering Department this position is responsible for assisting in the development of processes through the use of design & simulation software. Supporting the NASG team on high potential new business, running simulations, developing the best possible material utilization options and developing process layouts.

The position duties will include, but are not limited to: 
 

  • Perform advanced forming feasibility and process simulations using AutoForm software.
  • Develop and optimize process layouts, blank sizes, and draw operations to ensure forming feasibility and material efficiency.
  • Analyze simulation results for splits, wrinkles, thinning, and springback, providing clear recommendations to improve product design.
  • Collaborate with Tooling, Product Design, and Engineering teams to validate simulation outcomes and ensure process feasibility as per required tolerances.
  • Support Sales with technical input during new business development and customer discussions onsite and online.
  • Prepare CAD geometry (NX) for process setup, trim line development, and binder definition for running simulations.
  • Maintain simulation data, documentation, and reports in a structured and traceable format.
  • Assist estimating in providing optimal part nesting and equipment selection to optimize cost during quoting.
  • Part model changes when required by customers.
  • Participate in R&D and continuous improvement initiatives involving new materials, forming technologies, and process optimization.
  • Support production for resolving the issues on the shop floor by running virtual simulations.


Qualifications we are looking for include, but are not limited to:
 

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-6 years of experience in sheet metal forming simulation, process engineering, or stamping feasibility (automotive preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with AutoForm (preferred) and NX CAD (preferred). Equivalent CAD and CAE software may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal behavior, forming limits, and die process development.
  • Working knowledge of tooling principles (draw, trim, flange, restrike, and form operations).
  • Ability to interpret simulation data and communicate findings effectively to cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with TS16949 / IATF 16949.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with strong organizational skills.
