Responsibilities:
 

  • Responsible for the timely delivery of reporting results for all Service Centre divisions in North America.
  • Provide leadership to the divisional financial reporting group in the preparation of month end and year end statements in compliance with company policies and IFRS standards.
  • Develop and implement standard operating practices, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient monthly reporting.
  • Assist Director in addressing recommendations from internal and external auditors.
  • Take a leadership role in the annual external audit.
  • Liaise and collaborate with senior business unit management to ensure financial information requirements are being met.
  • Provide leadership to the divisional financial reporting group in the preparation of the budget, quarterly reporting and annual reporting.
  • Provide support for ad hoc financial analysis requirements from corporate or business units.
  • Responsible for managing all SC Accountants, including performance management and coaching.


Education & Certifications:
 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA, CMA, CGA completion preferred.


Qualifications:
 

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3-5 years in a management role leading senior-level staff.
  • Very strong working knowledge of Excel required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills required, very high attention to detail.
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task with minimal supervision.
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to take command and ownership of projects, driving them to timely, efficient, and accurate completion.
  • Ability to multitask on projects requiring broad skill sets, while maintaining high standards of work in a fast-paced environment, with competing priorities.
  • Ability to manage and lead team of accountants providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
