Accounting Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the dealership's Controller's supervision and in collaboration with the sales team, the dealership accounting technician is responsible for the entire accounting cycle related to the purchase and sale of new and used vehicles. He/she must be able to work independently and with sales and service teams. This is a permanent, full-time position.

MAIN DUTIES:

- Verify and account for deposits;
- Reconcile bank accounts;
- Account for vehicle purchases;
- Prepare vehicle payment or financing;
- Prepare and account for vehicle sales files;
- Balance sales transaction profit;
- Follow-up on customer disbursements;
- Enter direct debits and bank disbursements related to vehicle purchases and sales;
- Prepare cheque requisitions for sales files;
- Calculate commissions for sales consultants and sales managers;
- Issue supplier payments;
- Reconcile certain schedules, including vehicle inventories;
- Pay vehicle financing to bank;
- Close files;
- Reconcile vehicle financing with the bank at month-end;
- Reconcile physical inventory with accounting inventory;
- Verify accounts receivable schedules and follow up with various departments;
- Verify schedules related to finance and insurance departments and prepare payments;
- Provide support to concession teams;
- Perform all other related tasks.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Certificate or diploma in accounting; administrative technique (an asset);
- 2 to 5 years of experience in accounting;
- Knowledge of Office Suite and/or Google Drive (Excel, Word);
- Knowledge of ERA-IGNITE automotive software an asset;
- Autonomous and well-organized;
- Good management of priorities and end-of-month pressure;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team;
- Thoroughness and attention to detail.
