Job description

The Body in White Process Reliability Manager (PRM) will coordinate and manage product and process engineering activities within the Body in White (BIW) division.

Responsibilities of the Body in White Process Reliability Manager (PRM) will include: working in conjunction with manufacturing, engineering, program management and outside support groups to govern incoming process and product changes; overseeing quality control of internal and external indicators (KPI) and eliminate top quality losses using SPW methodologies; coordinating activities according to SPW standards; and working in conjunction with internal and external suppliers to ensure incoming/outgoing part quality.

Basic Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor's Degree, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum FIVE (5) years of automotive manufacturing experience (preferably in a unionized BIW environment)
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of SPW principles
  • Proven, positive application of the 7 steps of Quality Machine and Quality Control
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and trouble-shooting techniques
  • Superior overall product knowledge to assist with vehicle failure diagnosis
  • Knowledge of welding systems and inspection techniques (ultrasonic testing)
  • Knowledge of sealing and adhesive systems and inspection techniques
  • Knowledge of the NFP process
  • Knowledge of the roller hemming process
  • Knowledge of the pilot build process and launch activities
  • Knowledge of the system startup and certification processes
  • Knowledge of dimensional control and variation reduction (Cp/Cpk, CMM, vision systems, control plans)
  • Knowledge of Metrology Lab systems (MBK, PQP, EQAF, IQAF, scanning, match metal builds)
  • Knowledge of CAD systems (Team Center, NX)
  • Knowledge of warranty systems and customer satisfaction audits
  • Knowledge of the MQAS documentation process
  • Experience with external and internal audits (TUV, MQGR, ME, SPW)
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams to resolve complex issues
  • Proven ability to provide coaching and mentoring to team members (both hourly and salary)
  • Proficient in all MS Office products and database usage
  • Willing to participate in benchmarking activities
  • Eligible to work in Canada
