We are looking for a Used Vehicle Sales Manager to fill a strategic role within our team. This key position requires an experienced professional, able to operate with discretion and efficiency in a highly responsible environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in sales team management and stand out for their focus on achieving objectives, while fostering a harmonious and motivating work climate.

Responsibilities :

As Sales Manager, you will play an essential role in optimizing operations, managing teams and achieving performance targets.

Your responsibilities:

- Forecast, on a monthly and annual basis, sales, gross sales and key expense targets for the pre-owned car sales department.
- Prepare and manage the used car sales department's annual operating budget.
- Ensure proper follow-up of all potential buyers by creating, implementing and monitoring a customer research and sales control system.
- Create, implement and monitor a used car buyer follow-up system.
- Provide supervisor with accurate daily floor activity control data.
- Direct the marketing and advertising activities of the used car department, in collaboration with his/her superior. Collaborate in the design of advertising campaigns and various promotions.
- Ensure that all customers are referred to the Sales Manager.
- Establish and maintain standards for the delivery of cars to customers.
- Process sales consultants' commission sheets and monitor their payroll records.
- Evaluate all used cars arriving at the dealership, ensuring they are properly titled, mechanically sound, and body-worn.
- Affix labels for the sale and long-term lease of automobiles in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act, and ensure that they are kept up to date.
- Ensure legal warranties of good working order on used vehicles intended for retail sale.
- Plan and control the display of vehicles in the parking lot.
- Understand and keep abreast of federal, provincial and municipal regulations affecting the sale of pre-owned cars.

Tasks related to human resources management:

- Chair daily and weekly meetings for the sales team and implement systems to ensure ongoing training of used car sales advisors.
- Train and motivate staff under his/her responsibility, participate in the hiring of staff in collaboration with his/her superior.
- Conduct formal performance appraisals of staff under his/her responsibility at fixed intervals.
- Assist Used Car Sales Advisors in closing transactions and meet with customers as required.
- Ensure that Used Car Sales Advisors understand and comply with the dealership's sales policies, procedures and systems.
- Monitor used car sales advisors' efforts to improve the dealership's image and customer satisfaction ratings.
- Encourage teamwork in a customer-focused sales environment throughout the sales, delivery and follow-up processes.
- Strive for harmony and team spirit with all other departments.
- Attend directors' meetings.
- Present self in a professional manner.
- Perform other duties as required and directed by management.

Requirements:

- 10 years of experience or more in a similar role: your expertise is recognized, and you're ready to put it to good use in a new, stimulating environment.
- Bilingualism French/English: you are comfortable communicating with a varied clientele and building strong relationships.
- Knowledge of the pre-owned car market: a major asset for understanding trends and contributing to the company's growth.
- Ability to read financial statements: you know how to analyze information to make sound business decisions.
- Experience in inventory management: you master the organization and optimization of resources.
- Experience in team management: you enjoy mobilizing, inspiring and coaching your colleagues to achieve objectives together.
