Position: Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic

Reports to: Vehicle Maintenance Manager, VP Operations

Employment: Full Time Year Round

Job Description: Vehicle Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for the safe repair and maintenance of various vehicles and equipment. 

Position Requirements/Skills: 

 

• Trades certification or Apprenticeship
• Previous ski industry snow cat maintenance experience is an asset
• Experience in hydraulic and hydrostatic systems
• Experience in vehicle electrical systems
• Experience in suspension, tires, braking systems and drive lines
• Experience in engine, transmission, drivelines and axles
• Proficiency in welding and cutting
• Driver's license
• Proven self-motivation, ability to work well with minimum supervision
• Mechanical aptitude
• Demonstrate strong guest service skills
• Demonstrate strong organization, time management and communication skills
• Must have a high level of attention to detail
• Work well within a diverse team environment
• Flexible availability: including evenings, early mornings, weekends and statutory holidays
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and temperature extremes (-25 to +30)

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Troubleshoot and repair road vehicles and equipment
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Design and Fabricate assemblies when possible
• Maintain and clean the maintenance shop weekly or when required
• Perform and assist in maintenance of ski lifts
• Maintain various stationary machines
• Repair tools when required and possible
• Communicate effectively with all departments regarding maintenance
• Work cooperatively as a member of the maintenance team and ensure safe work practices are adhered to at all times
• Comply with all department and company policies, and procedures
• Perform other related tasks, as assigned by management
• Uphold the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times

Wage Range: $25.00 - $39.00/hr Depending on the year of apprenticeship

Physical Demands:

 

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk and lie down for periods for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to lift and carry 25kg (55lbs) at times.
• Must be able to kneel, bend, twist, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill duties.
• Must be able to perform a loaded twist (torqueing a wrench)
• Requires grasping, tool use, writing, standing, sitting, driving, shoveling, repetitive motions, climbing, visual acuity, listening and hearing ability.
