Parts Clerk - Senior.

Job summary:
Under the Fixed Operations Manager's supervision, the Senior Parts Clerk is responsible for managing the spare parts inventory. He/she is responsible for receiving, storing and distributing parts to mechanics or customers. He/she also places orders with suppliers, maintains an up-to-date inventory and advises customers on the right parts for their vehicles. He/she plays a key role in the smooth running of the workshop, ensuring the availability of parts needed for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Position requirements:
- Relevant experience in an equivalent position in the automotive field
- Possess a valid driver's license;
- Advanced knowledge of and interest in the automotive industry.
Job description:
- Greet customers who come to the parts department and answer telephone and e-mail inquiries;
- Provide quality customer service at all times;
- Advise customers on parts and accessories and place orders;
- Process internal parts requests according to required procedures;
- Collect payments and obtain credit authorizations;
- Maintain accurate and classified records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates and special order parts;
- Follow-up on orders;
- Replenish assigned stock on a daily basis;
- Organize and fill orders from inventory;
- Perform other duties as required and directed by management.
Education and experience:
- 7 years of experience in a similar role;
- Specific knowledge;
- Fluency in spoken and written French;
- Good command of English and ability to communicate clearly with our English-speaking customers;
- Knowledge and understanding of automotive mechanical components;
- Ability to work effectively with automotive parts ordering and work order management software;
- Knowledge of automotive mechanics (an asset);
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate technical information to customers;
- Excellent ability to manage priorities;
- Interpersonal and persuasive skills to achieve sales results.
