We currently have an opening for a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor position. This position will be based out of our Kitchener facility and will report to the Materials Manager. They will be required to communicate with all levels of the organization.
This position will be responsible for;
- Provide direction and supervision to shipping personnel and ensure that all personnel engaged in the shipping function are properly trained for their assignments.
- Along with the Logistics Manager, provide the necessary resources required to perform all functions as listed in the individual job descriptions for shipping personnel, Creating and maintaining of Efficient Warehouse Layouts for Components/Finished G
- Ensure the safe operation of lift trucks in the shipping/receiving area.
- Ensure the accurate creation of daily pick lists reflecting required shipments.
- Ensure product is picked for shipments in FIFO order.
- Ensure that staged/loaded shipments exactly match paperwork and meet customer requirements.
- Ensure that all receipts are received in good order and are moved to proper locations, in FIFO order.
- Ensure that all products is handled, moved and, stored in a safe/quality manner
- Interface with production scheduling and customer service & production Management to ensure that all shipments are correct and to schedule 100% of the time.
- Interface with buyer, receiving inspector, and production supervision to ensure that all functions are aware of the status of expedited products received and required by production.
- Ensure that completed shipments are forwarded to customer service, all required ASN'S are sent as required by the customer.
Required qualifications of this position include
- 4 years of experience in automotive industry as shipper/receiver or in the materials department
- 2 years of experience in Supervisory capacity
- Must have thorough understanding of Materials Management, with emphasis on shipping, receiving and inventory control
- High school diploma required, college degree preferred
