Job description
Job summary:
The Service Advisor position at Boisvert Ford involves greeting customers and gathering the information needed to identify and define the repair and maintenance needs of their vehicles. The Service Advisor will be responsible for selling maintenance services and organizing the work schedule while ensuring quality customer service.
Main duties:
• Warmly welcome customers upon their arrival and obtain information about their car;
• Explain to customers the nature of the work performed and all related costs;
• Advise customers on how to care for their car and emphasize the importance of maintaining it according to the manufacturer's technical specifications;
• Ensure that customers are informed of any promotions or services offered by the dealership;
• Be responsible for telephone, email, or text message inquiries regarding appointments and work in progress;
• Schedule appointments for maintenance services;
• Sell lubrication, safety inspection, and other similar services or any other maintenance required by the manufacturer;
• Accurately record issues with the customer's car on the repair order;
• Assign tasks to Technicians;
• Take into account previous repairs, inspect the car, and make recommendations regarding additional repairs required;
• Prepare a detailed and accurate estimate of labor and parts costs;
• Obtain the customer's signature on the repair order and provide them with a copy;
• Check the progress of the work throughout the day;
• Communicate with customers about any changes to the estimate or completion time, explain the costs and time required in detail, and obtain the appropriate authorization before additional work is performed;
• Check the extent of the warranty coverage on the vehicle to be repaired before starting work;
• Review repair orders to ensure that the work is complete and that any additional repairs and authorizations are recorded;
• Close the repair order according to standards;
• Be active in the quality control process to avoid returns to the workshop.
Schedule:
• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.;
• Fridays, from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.;
• Full-time and permanent.
You are the ideal candidate if you have the following skills:
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Experience in a dealership, ideally a Ford dealership;
• Ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously;
• Experience and/or knowledge of automotive mechanics;
• Attention to detail and ability to solve problems quickly;
• Fluency in English (an asset).
