The Role
Our Mitchell Plastics Kitchener facility is looking for a Fully Licensed Millwright on Afternoon Shift. Consideration will be given to Registered 4th year 433A tradesperson The Millwright is a key player in keeping our production floor running and ensuring we are able to meet customer requirements in a fast-paced, "just-in-time" environment. Cooperation with the Maintenance, Production and Continuous Improvement Teams is essential for this position. While this is an Afternoon Shift position at this time, candidates must be flexible to work any/all shifts, daily/weekend overtime as required plus rotating on-call duties. Own tools & transportation is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform PM Duties on equipment per PM Schedule.
- Trouble shoot hydraulic problems and repair.
- Trouble shoot electrical / electronic problems and repair.
- Trouble shoot and repair mechanical problems.
- Record corrective action.
- Identify safety concerns and repair unsafe conditions.
- Record repairs on PM forms.
- Provide proper lighting to work areas.
- On call expectations on a rotating schedule (1 week at a time)
- Any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or other Senior Management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Certified Industrial Millwright 433A Tradesperson
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years maintenance manufacturing experience - production floor & facilities work (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, equipment relocation, facility installs/upgrades & troubleshooting)
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Ability to read, write & communicate in English
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
- Self-driven & able to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Excellent team-player with a positive "can-do" attitude & excellent attendance
- Automation and/or experience with paint lines & systems is considered an asset
