Our Ottawa team is currently looking for a mechanically minded individual to ensure our fleet is running safely and smoothly. Responsibilities

 

  • Perform HD Truck & Trailer duties including equipment repair & preventative maintenance both in facility and in trade as required, in a safe and efficient manner
  • Troubleshooting mechanical & electrical problems
  • Perform PIT equipment repair & preventative maintenance, including forklifts and powered pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment


Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED required
  • Minimum of (1) year completion towards 310T apprenticeship at a school recognized by Skilled Trades Ontario
  • Must be available to work evenings
  • Certification in Internal Combustion Engine (ICE); (P - propane) is an asset
  • Demonstrate mechanical and electrical knowledge and aptitude.
  • Mechanical and electrical experience and/or education considered an asset
  • Knowledge of truck and transport equipment, specifically International/Volvo, an asset
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics considered an asset
  • Possess a valid Class AZ / 1 licence, an asset
  • Ability to communicate and work with location leaders and drivers
  • Safety-first mindset
  • Strong work ethics, ability to work independently
  • Team player who shows initiative, reliability, flexibility with a strong sense of commitment
  • Available to do go on road calls and do mobile mechanic duties in other locations
  • Other duties as assigned


Physical demands and working conditions: 
 

  • You can lift/carry and push/pull up to 75lbs
  • You are comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment
  • Must be able to perform frequent standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, reaching and grasping
  • Must be able to work shifts and overtime as required
  • Must be available to work evenings as required
