Job description

Job Summary

The position of Service Advisor at Boisvert Ford involves greeting customers and gathering the necessary information to identify and define their vehicle repair and maintenance needs. The Service Advisor is responsible for selling maintenance services and scheduling repair work while ensuring a high level of customer service.

Main Responsibilities
    • Warmly welcome customers upon arrival and gather information about their vehicle
    • Explain the nature of the work performed and all related costs
    • Advise customers on how to care for their vehicle and emphasize the importance of regular maintenance according to manufacturer specifications
    • Ensure customers are informed of any ongoing promotions or services offered by the dealership
    • Handle phone calls, emails, and text messages regarding appointments and ongoing work
    • Schedule maintenance appointments
    • Sell lubrication services, safety inspections, and other similar services or any maintenance required by the manufacturer
    • Accurately record the customer's concerns on the repair order
    • Dispatch work to technicians
    • Review previous services performed, inspect the vehicle, and recommend any additional necessary repairs
    • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for labor and parts
    • Obtain the customer's signature on the repair order and provide them with a copy
    • Monitor the progress of work throughout the day
    • Communicate with customers regarding any changes to the estimate or time required, explain costs and timeframes in detail, and obtain proper authorization before performing additional work
    • Verify warranty coverage on the vehicle before starting any repairs
    • Review repair orders to ensure work is completed and all additional repairs and authorizations are properly documented
    • Close repair orders according to company standards
    • Actively participate in the quality control process to avoid returns to the workshop

Work Schedule
    • Monday: 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • Tuesday: 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • Wednesday: 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • Thursday: 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Ideal Candidate Profile
You’re the ideal candidate if you have the following qualifications:
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Experience in a dealership, ideally with the Ford brand
    • Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously
    • Experience and/or knowledge in automotive mechanics
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to solve problems quickly
    • English proficiency is an asset
