Are you ready to put your mechanical skills to work in a dynamic, hands-on environment where your contributions truly matter? We're seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanicat our Walker Compost Facility in Niagara Falls, ON to help keep the critical machinery that powers our environmental solutions in top shape. If you're passionate about equipment maintenance and looking to build your career in a supportive, safety-first workplace, we want to hear from you! This is a full time position, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
What You'll Be Doing
- Maintain and repair equipment such as screeners, grinders, and loaders to keep them running smoothly and efficiently.
- Follow a structured preventative maintenance program to avoid costly breakdowns and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment based on manufacturer's specifications.
- Use hand and power tools to replace defective components, and even design, weld, and manufacture custom parts as needed.
- Make quick decisions and exercise good judgment to determine which repairs are urgent and which can wait.
Here's What You Need
- Experienced or licensed heavy-duty equipment technician (421A).
- Licensed 310T is an asset, but don't worry-we're open to those looking to expand their skills!
- Bonus points if you have welding experience or a welding license.
- Communication and collaboration are key, working with others and keeping everything on track is essential.
- We live by safety protocols to ensure everyone stays safe, so your commitment to following them is crucial.
- Must be able to work both in a Shop environment as well as in the field & possibly Field Service.
