Job description
Tesla is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Manufacturing Planning Coordinator to support our fast-paced manufacturing department in Richmond Hill, ON. As a Manufacturing Planning Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring our subcontracted manufacturing components are completed within specification, delivered on time, and processed through our internal systems accurately. This is a day shift position.
Responsibilities
- Utilize ERP systems (M1) to generate work orders based on supply, demand, and inventory levels
- Communicate daily with manufacturing suppliers to monitor order status and progress, ensuring adherence to cost committed delivery schedules
- Manage request for quotations, supplier quotes, and purchase orders within the ERP system, adjusting purchase order requirements as needed in accordance with company policies
- Collaborate with manufacturing project managers to select suppliers based on their capabilities, capacity, cost and quality track record
- Prioritize and schedule manufacturing jobs based on production requirements
- Coordinate with departments including Quality Control, Engineering, and Project Management to resolve issues and provide updates
- Identify and qualify additional reliable and capable suppliers to expand the supply chain
Requirements
- Degree in a related field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Machining, Supply Chain Management), or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience in a production planning or coordination role, preferably in a machining or manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret technical documents and communicate complex information effectively
- Proficiency in ERP systems (i.e. SAP, M1, JobBOSS) and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision
