Summary:
The Automotive Parts Counter Clerk works in a fast-paced environment that requires constant interaction with customers, both in person and over the phone, as well as the use of an automotive parts lookup computer system. This position also involves interaction with external vendors through various processes and systems, and includes responsibility for maintaining the auto center's retail space.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate a consistent commitment to meeting customer and vehicle needs;
• Direct and assist customers in locating requested items;
• Promptly respond to customer inquiries and concerns, both in person and by phone;
• Handle sensitive situations with professionalism;
• Stay informed about in-store promotions, auto center specials, and product locations;
• Locate and order automotive parts for customers from authorized suppliers;
• Follow proper procedures for ordering and selling parts to customers and over the auto center counter;
• Process returns, warranties, and exchanges as needed;
• Test batteries, starters, and alternators.
• Handle the battery filling station as per training received;
• Stock shelves and displays using planograms and display modules;
• Ensure inventory accuracy and monitor/report low stock levels (e.g., checking empty slots and analyzing display capacity);
