Explore your next role:
As the Fleet Manager, you will report to the Director of Line Maintenance (Airways). You will be responsible for coordinating all maintenance activities for Voyageur's fleet of aircraft and engines, ensuring the timely completion of upcoming maintenance events. The Fleet Manager also provides planning and technical support to engineers at all bases and monitors maintenance performance across the entire fleet.
Coordinate Maintenance Requirements and Aircraft Scheduling/ Planning
- Analyze future maintenance reports and coordinate with Flight Ops/ Commercial Services and the Line Maintenance Manager any required aircraft downtime and scheduling changes needed to carry out maintenance on aircraft.
- Ensure all required material, possible hangar facilities or equipment and sufficient manpower are ready and available prior to the maintenance coming due.
- Track future maintenance for aircraft fleet for up to 1 year in advance and re-analyze each month for any changes that may occur and is captured for future scheduling if needed.
- Order and track movement of aircraft parts and specialized tooling required for maintenance.
Planning and Estimates for Aircraft Maintenance Heavy Checks
- Plan, estimate and track the progress of aircraft undergoing checks at the main base.
- Constant communications with Aerotech on the forecasted work to be accomplished and ensuring all requested maintenance and modifications has been carried out.
- Communications with DLM and the VP of Voyageur Airways regarding future maintenance on fleet aircraft and all engines.
- Conduct pre and post inspections to company aircraft while at main base.
Technical Support to Base Engineers
- As necessary converse with engineers and assist with any assistance that can be provided to rectify defects in the field.
- Responsible for any aircraft maintenance and personnel for operations from the main base and Moncton.
- Maintain frequent communications with engineers on day-to-day operations and assist with decision making when necessary.
- Required to stand in place of DLM for certain meetings while DLM is away.
Monitor Aircraft Exceedances, Engine Program and Recurrent Defects
- Monitor aircraft exceedances received daily and report or discuss any abnormalities with DLM and/or DFO.
- Track fleet engines for upcoming scheduled maintenance and coordinate with base ACA (in field) or Aerotech (main base) for what work will be carried out and liaise with a vendor if the engine, or part of, has been sent away from base for the work to be done.
- Coordinate any changes to the 'on-condition' engine program with the DLM as well as keep DLM up to date on any developments while engine is at the vendor.
- Monitor and record any recurring defects on a monthly basis and report them directly to the DLM. If any have occurred, then any necessary maintenance will be coordinated with the DLM as well as the Line Maintenance Manager.
- Control MEL status and coordinate repairs. Request extensions to deferred defects and MEL's when necessary.
- Monitor oil analysis program on the fleet and make recommendations to the DLM when an abnormal situation arises.
Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:
- AMT Diploma from a certified college
- Valid AME license with a minimum M1 rating
- Minimum of 6 years' experience performing or directly supervising maintenance
- Working knowledge of avionics standard practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Positive, responsible, and self-motivated attitude
