SERVICE ADVISOR - SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Service Manager, this position is responsible for greeting customers and gathering the information required to identify and define customers' vehicle repair and maintenance needs.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Greet customers warmly upon arrival and obtain information about their car;
- Establish a relationship of trust with customers, identify their needs and interpret the information received to pass it on to the workshop technician;
- Explain the nature of the work performed and all costs to customers;
- Accurately record vehicle problems on repair orders;
- Advise customers on how to care for their vehicle and stress the importance of maintaining it according to the manufacturer's technical specifications;
- Ensure that customers are informed of any promotions or services offered by the dealership;
- Test drive the car with the customer, if necessary, to confirm the nature of the problem or refer the customer to a technician;
- Schedule service appointments;
- Prepare a detailed and accurate estimate of the cost of labor and parts;
- Establish the customer's method of payment. Obtain credit approval, if required;
- Notify shop foreman of work to be performed;
- Communicate with customers about any changes to the service;
- Present self in a professional manner;
- Perform other duties as required and directed by management.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy;
- Previous customer service experience;
- Basic knowledge of the automotive industry.
