Job Description:

Fanshawe Corporate Training Solutions is seeking two (2) experienced and passionate Automotive Service Technician (AST) Instructors to lead the delivery of the Level 1 Pre-Apprenticeship Trainingprogram. 

This program supports equity-deserving participants seeking entry into skilled trades. The successful candidate will guide learners through both practical and in-class theory, adhering to Skilled Trades Ontario Level 1 curriculum standards.

Note: This is a part-time contract position from June 30, 2025 - September 5, 2025 for 24 hours per week. 

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive instruction for AST Level 1 Pre-Apprenticeship curriculum (both hands-on and theoretical content)
  • Facilitate a safe and supportive learning environment for all learners, including those new to the trades
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback
  • Model professional conduct and technical excellence
  • Collaborate with program coordinators to ensure participant success and retention
  • Contribute to the success of an equitable and inclusive learning experience


Qualifications:
 

  • Red Seal Certification in Automotive Service Technician 310S (mandatory)
  • Minimum 5 years of recent, relevant experience in the automotive service industry
  • Experience teaching or mentoring apprentices or pre-apprenticeship participants (preferred)
  • Understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles in education and trades
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, respectful, and empowering classroom and shop environment


Program Duration:
10 weeks (theory and practical instruction)

Compensation:

$60.38/hour ($64.00/ hour including vacation pay)
