Position summary:
Under the Fixed Operations Manager's supervision , the Parts Clerk is responsible for managing parts inventory. He/she receives, stores and distributes parts to mechanics or customers. They also place orders with suppliers, maintain an up-to-date inventory and advise customers on the right parts for their vehicles. He plays a key role in the smooth running of the workshop by ensuring the availability of parts needed for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Job description:
- Greet customers who come to the parts department and answer telephone and e-mail inquiries;
- Provide quality customer service at all times;
- Advise customers on parts and accessories and place orders;
- Process internal parts requests according to required procedures;
- Follow-up on orders;
- Replenish assigned stock on a daily basis;
- Organize and fill orders from stock;
- Perform other duties as required and directed by management.
Education and experience:
- Over 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Specific knowledge:
- Knowledge and understanding of automotive mechanical components;
- Ability to work effectively with automotive parts ordering and work order management software;
- Knowledge of automotive mechanics (an asset);
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate technical information to customers;
- Excellent ability to manage priorities;
- Interpersonal and persuasive skills to achieve sales results.
