Job description

Primary Duties:

• Coordinate manufacturing operations through efficient and economic use of facilities, manpower and material to insure timely customer deliveries. Use top level capacity planning through the Sales & Operating Planning tools to define & communicate customer sales forecasts & required shift structures.

• Plans and supervises the inventory control activities (including inventory accuracy, cycle counting & plant physical inventories). Manage inventory levels within established financial guidelines (including production build outs, engineering changes, obsolete/slow moving inventories). Maintain cost & part numbers within corporate proprietary inventory, shipping & financial systems.

• Manage inventory through non-value added and blocked stock stages as well as trapped inventory and set priorities for production planning.

• Coordinate SCOP functional costs (Packaging, Freight, Storage, Forklift) within budgeted levels.

• Develop and communicate planned stocking levels for Fabrication of Windshield products to O.E.M. customers and Just-In-Time programs along with AGR products to insure the plant operates at a "zero" delinquent level.

• Ensure that the detail operating plans and schedules conform to issuing requirements for economic production quantities, especially with regard to non-current AGR requirements, such that operating variances can be anticipated and planned for rather than after the fact

• Ensure the planning and ordering of direct materials for current & future production plans are carried out to meet the production schedule plans & customer requirements while working within the budget

• Ensures appropriate supply of packaging to meet scheduled production requirements and administer rack repair program

• Responsible for direct communication with internal & external customers regarding product supply, shortages, available to promise and on time response entries to open tickets & issues from customer specific communication systems.

• Assure all proper paperwork accompanies all items shipped and received and ensures that all inbound materials are accurately received and promptly processed. Customer requirements for outbound shipments must be satisfied.

• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity's relating to product, process and quality system. Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality systems. Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels. Verify the implementation of solutions. Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected. To communicate with the teams ensuring an understanding of company goals.

• Assist teams in the selection of appropriate options in order to achieve these goals.

• Develop systems whereby excellent interpersonal relationships are maintained both within and outside the group.

• Develops operating systems for the improvement of: customer feedback, interaction with other functions/groups, internal communication between group teams.

• Responsible for auditing: safety systems, quality systems, productivity improvement, inventory.

• Establishes any human resource requirements in the short, medium and long term, defining training plans in order to achieve objectives.

• Assists in the evaluation of the well-bring of each team member through ongoing interaction within the teams.

• Ensure internal ISO 14000 environmental management system compliance and TS16949 automotive quality management system compliance, and ensure continual improvement.

• Active participation in request for quote process and long term planning.

Qualifications Required:

• University degree in related field

• Seven to ten years of related experience within automotive industry (unionized environment is an asset).

• Strong interpersonal skills with a results oriented approach.

• Excellent organization skills.

• Superior excel skills

• Experience with System such as SAPO, PASS, COGNOS, SFRS*, NIAPS*, FPACS* preferred (*denotes proprietary systems)
