Summary :
The Automotive Parts Counter Attendant works in a fast-paced environment that involves constant interaction with customers, both in person and over the phone, as well as the use of a computerized automotive parts search system. This position also involves interaction with outside salespeople using a variety of processes and systems, as well as responsibility for maintaining the car center sales floor.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of the customer and their vehicle.
- Direct and guide customers to the location of requested items.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and concerns, by phone or in person.
- Handle delicate situations with professionalism.
- Be informed of in-store promotions, car center specials and item locations.
- Locate and order automotive parts for customers from authorized suppliers.
- Follow procedures for ordering and selling parts to customers and at the counter.
- Process returns, warranties and trade-ins as required.
- Check batteries, starters and alternators. Operate battery filling station according to training received.
- Stock shelves and displays using modules and layout diagrams.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and monitor and report low stock levels (e.g., empty bin checks and display capacity analysis).
- Operate computers and RF readers and enter all relevant codes into the systems.
Knowledge of Costar is an asset.
