As a Regional Fleet & Rental Manager, your primary responsibilities are to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of our company's fleet of vehicles and successfully manage the company's equipment rental program. You will play a crucial role in developing and overseeing the maintenance, logistics, and compliance programs and policies of our fleet of vehicles and equipment, while striving to optimize its performance. Your goal is to minimize downtime, reduce operating costs, and enhance the overall productivity of our assets, all while adhering to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. By effectively managing the Fleet and Equipment rentals program, you will contribute to the success and growth of our organization. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations, you will be responsible for maximizing rental revenue, managing asset utilization, and identifying opportunities to expand rental offerings based on business needs. This includes monitoring rental performance metrics, and ensuring high standards of customer satisfaction and service delivery.
What you will be responsible for:
Fleet & Equipment Procurement and Specification:
- Lead the development and execution of fleet and asset management strategies, including cost control and process optimization.
- Source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships to identify service efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
- Works with local management and the Fleet department in Fleet vehicle specification and procurement.
- Takes delivery of new fleet vehicles, organizes installation and fulfillment of all equipment needs required for the vehicle (e.g., signs, windmasters, etc.)
- Manage procurement for equipment to support the rental program.
Analysis and Utilization:
- Analyze fleet and equipment data to drive performance improvements, optimize utilization, and reduce repair and maintenance costs.
- Prepare and manage the annual capital expenditure (CAPEX) budget for fleet and equipment.
- Conduct revenue and profitability analysis, including P&L reviews and rental performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with technology vendors to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and integration with evolving fleet requirements.
- Strategize sales growth opportunities to increase rental revenues year over year.
- Develop and manage service level agreements with service providers across various regions.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders in analyzing costs and recommending vehicle fleet utilization and replacement based on actual deployment, usage, and wear.
- Supports the fleet department and local operations in negotiating service contracts, thereby realizing cost efficiencies.
Compliance and Operations Management:
- Oversee the creation and implementation of audit and reporting tools focused on cost reduction and operational transparency.
- Coordinate fleet strategies with internal departments to ensure alignment with company goals and seamless delivery.
- Lead, coach, and mentor the fleet and asset management team, fostering a strong, accountable, and performance-driven culture.
- Continuously enhance departmental systems, tools, and processes to improve service delivery and operational outcomes.
Fleet & Rental Management System and Policy Oversight:
- Use telematics, KPIs, and other tools to monitor fleet health, prolong asset life, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective asset usage, compliance, and lifecycle management.
- Oversee Fleet Management System, Policy, and SOPs.
- Negotiate and manage service level agreements with various vendors.
- Drive sales and growth in the rental market.

What we need from you:
- Degree or equivalent in experience.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge in Traffic Management Planning and British Columbia Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations.
- Ability to develop clear and effective standard operating procedures.
- Experience with P&L analysis.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, professional, and ethical, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with great attention to detail.
- Analytical thinking and the ability to work with business and technical resources.
- Efficient multitasking and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective stakeholder facilitation.
- Leadership experience is required.
- Managing medium sized teams.
- Support for change management initiatives.
- Experience in procurement processes.
