The Opportunity
The Student, Fleet Tech will have the opportunity to attain hands-on work experience through this employment opportunity. As the Student, Fleet Tech, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
- Assist technicians with general routine maintenance and servicing of various vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to light duty, heavy duty and construction equipment. Maintenance responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Tire maintenance
- Fluid changes; greasing etc.
- Clean and fuel vehicles
- Administrative functions
- Assist with commissioning and decommissioning of new and pre-owned vehicles
- Parts inventory including stocking shelves
- Perform housekeeping duties
- Assist in maintaining inventory of all parts and materials including, but not limited to fuel, oil, and grease and update inventory in EMDECs.
- Assist in obtaining pricing quotations, acquisition and delivery of new parts or equipment.
- Assist with keeping inventory control in EMDECs or alternate software platform.
- Perform work as directed by assigned supervisor.
- Participate in all mandatory training requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a student studying within an automotive, heavy equipment and/or truck field at an accredited educational institution and returning to school in Fall of 2025.
The ideal candidate will have experience in safe use and operation of hand and power tools, rudimentary knowledge of electronics and hydraulics and vehicle/equipment diagnostic software. This candidate will also possess computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
The incumbent will have rudimentary knowledge of fuel management and inventory systems including AVL systems, Asset Management, Fuel Management Systems, work Order Systems and Inventory Control.
The successful candidate for this role will be required to work a flexible schedule.
