About the Job
As Mobile Fleet Supervisor you will oversee all maintenance to company mobile equipment to ensure minimum downtime, maximise efficiency, and cost effectiveness of fleet. You will supervise the mobile equipment repair facility staff and ensure the facility operates in compliance with health and safety and environmental policies and regulations.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, based out of our Essex location.
What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee and schedules maintenance on all heavy equipment to ensure maximum effectiveness, reduce down time and increase cost effectiveness.
- Maintains the repair facility to ensure that all health and safety and environmental policies, regulations and legislation are adhered to.
- Oversee workloads and provide supervision to heavy equipment repair facilities team to ensure that work is done accurately, efficiently and complies with policies, procedures and regulations as well as best working practices.
- Provides guidance, motivation, and performance review including hiring and terminating employees, maintaining and enhance competency levels, identifying future training requirements and achieve goals to increase performance.
- Tracks invoices and perform regular inventory of parts to ensure adequate levels of materials are in supply and places orders for new parts as necessary.
- Sources new supplies and materials and explore new ways to maximise efficiencies.
- Routinely monitors equipment to identify any repair issues and make recommendations to improve operations and condition of equipment.
- Participate in annual budgeting process for fleet repairs and maintenance according to operational demands
- Provide input for capital planning as per fleet replacement guidelines, acknowledging future production requirements to ensure maximum efficiency of fleet demands.
- Provide guidance on processing and fixed plant equipment repairs.
Here's What You Need
- Minimum high school graduation or equivalent level of education,
- Minimum 5 years' experience of heavy-duty equipment supervisory experience an asset.
- Heavy Duty Equipment - 421A or equivalent
- Valid G Registration Ontario Driver's Licence in good standing is required for this position.
- Advanced ability to work with mechanical parts and equipment safely.
- Strong technical aptitude, and knowledge of heavy equipment used in the mining industry.
- Advanced ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems, at times, of a mechanical nature.
- Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details, makes sure work is done correctly and thoroughly. Keeps accurate records.
- Advanced ability to provide technical information and education to fellow colleagues.
- Proficient communication skills, both oral and written to disseminate information with clarity, in one on one, or group situations.
