Summary:
We are looking for a highly capable Full-Time Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team, based in Richmond Hill, ON.
Responsibilities:
In the position of Heavy Equipment Mechanic your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Maintain and repair site equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
- Repair and service any and all equipment on site from loaders, excavators, skid steers, screening plants, grinders, pumps, generators, etc.
- Work daily with the site operations management to coordinate downtime of equipment for repairs and service.
- Manage and co-ordinate subcontracted work and equipment rentals.
- Assist in improving the Preventative Maintenance program within the compost group.
- Will be required to conduct service repairs outdoors.
- Will be required to travel to other compost yard when need to assist in repairs.
- Must have strong organizational skills to work independently.
Requirements:
- Successful candidates will ideally possess a Heavy Equipment Technician License.
- You will have the ability to diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Basic computer knowledge as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills are an asset for this position.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced team-oriented environment is key in this position.
- Must be flexible with your working schedule as you may be required to work weekends and holidays to perform repairs and services.
- Must have valid G driver's license with a clean record.
- Must own full set of mechanic tools.
