Position Summary: Bannister Automotive Group Chilliwack (a division of the Bannister Automotive Group) is looking for a Handyman to assist the Fixed Operation Manager with Building and Shop Maintenance for our four dealerships, and collision center. This position is suitable for a semi-retired individual who is comfortable with a variety general maintenance duties, and able to work 4-6 hours a day.

Responsibilities
 

  • Keep the parking lot and buildings in a clean, well maintained, and orderly condition at all times
  • Ensure any safety hazards or concerns are addressed in a timely manner
  • Perform general maintenance of all service areas, including painting, cleaning, discarding parts, or other duties
  • Keeping the shop areas clean and organized
  • General duties as requested


Requirements
 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Valid Class 5 or N Driver's license
  • Able to climb ladders
  • Operate power tools and small gas powered equipment
  • Tow and operate dump trailer
  • Knowledge of minor interior and exterior building maintenance
  • General carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical skills
  • A valid Forklift Operation Certificate is considered an asset


Work Conditions
 

  • Regularly spend long hours Standing in a shop environment
  • Regularly spend long hours in varying temperatures as dictated by seasonal weather conditions.
  • Frequently work on projects that require deadlines
  • Regularly lift 15-20 pounds
  • Work clothes and personal protective equipment must be worn
