Heavy Equipment Technician / Mechanic

SHOP LOCATION:Ottawa, ON (Greely Area)

TYPE:Full-Time (Monday-Friday; Day Shift)

EQUIPMENT SERVICED: Hydrovac trucks, street sweepers, refuse trucks, landscaping equipment 
*Infrastructure maintenance equipment

SIGNING BONUS:
 

• 310T or 421A Licensed = $2,500.00
• 310T or 421A Apprentices = $1,000.00
• All other ticketed mechanics = $1,800.00

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
 

• Licensed Heavy Equipment (421A) or Truck & Coach Technician (310T) an asset
• 2+ years' experience as a Licensed Mechanic
• Valid Driver's License with Clean Abstract
• Experienced with hydraulic and/or electrical work

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment represented by JJE
• Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
• Communicate with Lead Hand and/or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
• Maintain organized and safe work area and shop tools

• Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the Company or by the regulations.
