Destination/ Roadmap

Transdev Ontario & Manitoba is a multi-modal operator with services in Student Transportation, Non-Emergency Medical Transport, Transit and Commercial Passenger Services. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a highly diverse, geographically vast fleet and operation, and must be willing to travel to all Transdev Ontario & Manitoba locations. This position will be based in the *GTHA region, Ontario. 

Reporting directly to the SVP Ontario and Manitoba, the Director, Fleet & Assets holds a comprehensive range of duties pertaining 

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Fleet & Assets is responsible for:

Procurement & Asset Management
 

  • You will oversee the management of physical assets (fleet and facilities) of the company, including procurement, replacement, and disposal.
  • Assess operation segment assets for replacement.
  • Optimize use of fleet assets throughout the lifecycle
  • Establish and maintain best practice service standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Negotiate services with vendors & manufacturers.
  • Perform vendor visits/reviews.


Maintenance
 

  • Ensures maintenance of assets in accordance with established standards and policies
  • Ensure the safety, availability, and reliability of the fleet.
  • Establishes and maintains controls for fleet maintenance.
  • Ensure best practice of all Fleet Service processes.
  • Coordinate through a team of Fleet Managers, all Fleet maintenance repairs and outsourcing.
  • Responsible for overseeing all Fleet Services' garage locations and physical facilities owned and/or leased by Transdev Ontario & Manitoba


Financial
 

  • Collect, analyze, and present key performance indicators related to fleet services to management and operations.
    Inventory management
  • Responsible for Fleet Services' budgets and actual results
  • Provides a long-term view of vehicle replacement capital expenditures and vehicle operational expenditures according to fleet projections.


Leadership
 

  • Accountable for a team of licensed mechanics and administrative support staff in multiple locations.
  • Fosters a high degree of accountability for best practices within Fleet Services.
  • Ensure Transdev Fleet Services results reflect a high degree of success reflecting Transdev's.
  • Leadership within all Transportation segments.
  • Actively participate in developing others, engaging in customer relationship and industry.


Required Education and Experience
 

  • You have a University or College education or equivalent in a relevant field of study.
  • You have 5-7 years' experience in a similar role.


Skills
 

  • Your 310S or 310T license is an asset but not required.
  • Your Senior Leadership Management experience is required.
  • You bring highly developed Leadership skills.
  • You are computer literate in MS Office.
  • You possess analytical skills for evaluating fleet services processes.
  • You bring your expert level knowledge of the Health & Safety Act and National Safety Code.
  • You have experience in tiered organization procurement policies.
  • You possess a Clean Criminal record.
  • You have a minimum full G Ontario Driver's License *or equivalent, with a clean drivers abstract.


Language 
 

  • English full proficiency is required.

  • Location: You reside in, or are ready to relocate to, the preferred base location in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario.
