The Area Sales Manager is responsible for communicating and promoting Financial Services products, services and initiatives with BMW, MINI, Motorcycle and Rolls-Royce retailers within the assigned territory. This role is responsible for delivering retailer and contract volume growth and quality based on targets established for the assigned territory. This is a field position and the selected candidate will be required to travel throughout assigned territory on a regular basis. The selected candidate preferably would have Sales management experience in this region.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Lead regional consultative sales management and promotional activities within designated BMW, MINI, Motorrad, and Rolls-Royce retailer accounts
  • Drive sales effectiveness by communicating products and programs to Retailer Principal(s), General Management, and Sales Teams
  • Develop and propose annual financial services sales targets for the assigned territory, coordinating with Regional Sales Manager(s) from BMW Canada to support retailers in achieving national sales targets
  • Provide sales-focused customer service and support to the assigned retailer network, explaining BMW Group Financial Services programs and solutions, handling objections, and highlighting advantages over competitors
  • Compile competitor program databases for market analysis and competitive pricing positioning within the automotive financing market
  • Cultivate retailer commercial financing relationships, negotiating deal structures, reviewing financial statements, and providing credit review recommendations for approval
  • Develop and implement sales incentive programs to increase business, penetration, loyalty, and customer service indexes
  • Conduct regular business reviews to assess retailer needs, review performance, and define strategic objectives
  • Organize, participate and conduct sales meetings and training sessions to enhance financial services penetration for lease, loan, OwnersChoice™, and protection products
  • Prepare timely account management reports on retailer penetration, portfolio performance, sales targets, actual volumes, business plans, and next actions
  • Address retailer inquiries regarding products, programs, insurance, and initiatives
  • Assist in designing and executing product knowledge seminars and workshops for corporate and retailer personnel, providing ongoing training support
  • Ensure retailer network stays updated on current rates, residuals, program guidelines, and deadlines
  • Identify and pursue opportunities within the assigned territory while fostering excellent relationships with the retailer network
  • Provide support to BMW Group colleagues in investigating, reviewing, and resolving retailer-related topics


Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of financial services experience is required
  • 3-5 years of sales / account management experience
  • Experience in the automotive industry would be beneficial
  • Well-developed and proven analytical skills and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experience in dealing with customers and retailers
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Results driven
  • Bilingual - English/French - written and verbal
  • Ability to travel as required


Compensation

The compensation range for this role is $93,500 - $114,000, with variations based on factors like experience, education and skills. Experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
