The company focuses on short-haul, B2B logistics for Fortune 500 customers including Kroger, Walmart, Tyson Foods, Loblaw, Pitney Bowes, Georgia-Pacific, and KBX; enabling them to optimize their hub-and-spoke supply chain operations, enhance service levels and product flow across multiple locations while reducing labor costs and meeting an unprecedented expectation for faster deliveries. Gatik's Class 3-7 autonomous box trucks are commercially deployed in multiple markets including Texas, Arkansas, and Ontario, Canada.
About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Regional General Manager to oversee profit and loss (P&L) management, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction within a designated territory. This dynamic leader will direct all logistics and transportation activities in their region, ensuring on-time delivery, cost-efficiency, and adherence to all safety and compliance regulations. This is a pivotal position in driving growth and ensuring exceptional service delivery for our customers. The Regional Fleet General Manager will work closely with the fleet operations, commercial and engineering teams to drive new customer deployments, deliver on customer commitments, test new autonomous vehicles and routes and build a world-class logistics operations and transportation network in their assigned region.

An ideal candidate would be self-motivated, technically inclined, embraces a positive attitude, remains calm in a rapid-paced environment, identifies as a change-maker, and has a strong operational background. This role will be onsite daily at our Etobicoke, ON office.

  • P&L Responsibility: Develop and manage regional budgets, forecasts, and financial targets to achieve profitability goals. Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Strategic Planning: Create and implement strategic plans to optimize transportation networks, streamline processes, improve asset utilization, and reduce operational costs. Define and execute against objectives and KPIs, positively reinforce and engage your team, and share in each other's success
  • Operational Excellence: Direct and oversee daily transportation and logistics operations, including route planning, driver, vehicle and freight scheduling, and vehicle readiness and maintenance.
  • Team Leadership: Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of logistics professionals across the region, including fleet maintenance and repair and driver management. Set clear expectations, model Gatik's Core Values, provide regular feedback, and promote accountability. Develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships with customers, service vendors and Gatik staff.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing service issues, supporting contract negotiation and activation, and pursuing growth opportunities. Be at the forefront of all customer interactions and fleet deployments.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate current operational performance and provide a strategic plan for improvements. Continuously evaluate logistics processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to enhance scalable operational performance and customer satisfaction. Draft, deliver, maintain, audit, and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Safety and Compliance: Champion a safety-first culture within the organization, ensuring adherence to all Canadian DOT regulatory standards and company policies. Drive a safety-first culture across all aspects of the operations.
  • Fleet Management: Lead day-to-day coordination and management of fleet operations activities for our fleet of Class 3-7 autonomous and non-autonomous box trucks. Develop and adhere to strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and maintain schedules, detailed records of vehicle maintenance and inspection. Manage team and platforms to keep ELD logs, regulatory and registration up-to-date, vehicle maintenance logs, and maintenance reminders up to date by performing regular audits. Maintains company and contractual assets (vehicles, facilities, inventories, tools, and equipment).
  • Functional Coordination: Partner effectively with headquarters internal functions including Human Resources, IT, Finance and Legal to ensure alignment with regional priorities and execution on strategy plans and objectives.
